Meet the Pastor

MEET THE PASTOR

Pastor Nate Armstrong

By the grace of God, I was blessed with having godly parents who were dedicated to raising my brother and I “in the nurture and admonition of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4). My parents joined Fairwinds Baptist Church in 1999, where I was also enrolled into Fairwinds Christian School. While attending a Summer Camp Retreat in Pennsylvania as a 12-year-old boy, I finally acknowledged the weight of my sin and my need for Jesus as my Savior. On June 19, 2002, with tears streaming down my face, I walked forward during the invitation and surrendered my life to Christ.

I later graduated from Fairwinds Christian School in 2007 and furthered my education through Williamson College of the Trades, where I studied Carpentry and worked in Home Remodeling for the next 9 years. Following my graduation from Williamson in 2010, I married my high-school sweetheart Coleen, and God has blessed us with four wonderful children: Landon, Lawson, Langston, and Lydia.

However, as time progressed, an undeniable desire began to develop in my heart. As I traveled daily from one jobsite to the next, I could not resist the urge of listening to sound biblical preaching and teaching. I had a newfound passion for God’s Word. During the summer of 2016, while attending a church service, I felt the Holy Sprit’s calling on my life, and that night, my wife and I surrendered our lives to full-time ministry. I did not know all the details; I just knew that God was beckoning me to answer His high calling.

In August of 2016, I began serving full-time here at Fairwinds Baptist Church as both the Youth Director and the middle-school/high school Bible teacher for Fairwinds Christian School. Little did I know that the Lord was using that time to prepare and train me for where He has brought me today. It is with a great sense of honor and excitement that God has called me to be the Senior Pastor here at Fairwinds Baptist Church. I take this responsibility very seriously and recognize that I will answer to God for my leadership and ministry. My prayer is that the Lord will graciously lead me as I diligently lead and serve His Church, and most importantly that He will be glorified in all that I do.

1 Timothy 1:12 – “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”
