Iím Mandy Higgins and I graduated from Fairwinds Christian School in 2001. I attended Fairwinds from Pre-K3 through 12th grade. I loved growing up at Fairwinds! The academics were excellent and the teachers loved their students. The concepts were well-taught and they worked hard to help us any way they could. The academics challenged me, and I am thankful for that because after graduating, I had a very strong understanding and foundation in subjects like English, which put me ahead most of my classmates when I went to college.  I also had the opportunities to participate in many extra activities. I took speech classes, performed in school productions, and worked in numerous fundraising activities. We also had a great sports program. I played softball, volleyball, basketball, and was a cheerleader. As important as all of these things are, the most important thing was the Biblical emphasis that put on everything that was taught no matter what the subject, sport, or activity. I was always taught to use my knowledge and talents for the Lord and for His glory. The teachers always reminded us that giving your life to the Lord was the most important decision you will ever make.  I made some amazing memories growing up in Fairwinds that I will never forget. It was the best well-rounded education that any child could have, and I am blessed that I was able to receive my education there.

After graduation, I attended Pensacola Christian College majoring in Graphic Design. It is a tough school, but, again,  I did not struggle like many of my classmates because of the tough high school education Fairwinds gave to prepare me. I met my husband, Matthew Higgins, and we were married in 2004. We moved to Tampa, FL where we are missionaries to a ministry called Hope Childrenís Home that cares for abandoned, abused, and neglected children. Matt is the Administrative Director, and I am the Graphic Designer. I produce all of our printed media as well as manage our website. We also have a christian school on our campus where I coach volleyball. I love coaching because I am able to use the skills I learned when I was in high school. We also have four children, two of which we adopted this year.

I am beyond blessed that I was able to attend Fairwinds Christian School and Fairwinds Baptist Church. They are my family, and Iím so thankful for all the teachers and staff that invested in my life and encouraged me to do my best and live my life for the Lord and His glory.
